1.The arrangements for the on-line tuition are made between the tutor and the parents/ guardians of the
student. For start, an “acquaintance” meeting takes place. The student should be present.
2. If agreed, a first lesson is scheduled; this is an “introductory lesson” (at no cost) of an hour long so that the student evaluates the services provided, i.e. the tutor’s teaching approach and resources used. For that, the parents/guardians should fill in this form. 3.If the student wishes to continue with the e-tutoring then the parents/guardians purchase a pack of lessons(called “session”). This is done in advance and not later than 24 hours before the first scheduled lesson begins. The number of lessons purchased is not prefixed but it cannot be less than four (4).4.Methods of payment might differ among tutors.
5.Lessons can take place on Skype, Zoom or Microsoft Teams platform.
6.Lessons are timetabled mainly on a weekly basis (not fortnightly) and usually last 90 minutes.
7.A lesson can be cancelled by the student up to 1 hour before it starts. The parent/guardian should e-mail the tutor and explain the reason/s for cancelling.8.If an adequate excuse is not provided for cancelling a lesson, then the lesson is not rescheduled. In this case, there will be no refund for the missed lesson.9.Tutors reserve the right to cancel a lesson up to 1 hour before it starts. In this case, the lesson is rescheduled.10.Students should always have their audio and video on during lessons. If a student does not conform with this policy, then the tutor reserves the right to either stop the teaching or exclude the specific student from the lesson. In this case, there will be no refund for the missed lesson.11.Students are not allowed to video/audio record lessons or take snapshots of the tutors’ presentations. Any resources will be provided to them by the tutor.12. Parents/guardians are more than welcome to observe any lesson. If they wish to do so, they need to let the tutor know. No one else is permitted to be present during the on-line lessons unless the tutor has allowed it. 13.Parents/guardians can request a meeting in order to receive feedback for their child’s academic progress.14.Tutors’ role is to teach their subject, set homework and provide feedback.15.For any extra marking by tutors (e.g. past papers) requested by students and carried out outside lessons, there will be a charge on a pro rata basis.16.Pastoral care is not within tutors’ responsibilities.17.Even though tutors at helios-tutors.com do their best at teaching efficiently, they cannot guarantee that a student will reach a specific grade at the end of the school year or in any (internal or external) examination.18.Tutors at helios-tutors.com reserve the right to completely cancel the on-line tuition of a student at any time. In this case, there will be a refund for the number of lessons that were purchased and did not take place.19.The tutors in Biology, Physics and Greek are not part of (do not belong in) Helios Tutors.20.Tutors at helios-tutors.com work independently. No tutor takes credit or responsibility for other tutor’s quality of teaching.21.Helios Tutors reserves the right to make changes to the Terms of Use at any time.
