Mathematics

DIMITRIS completed his degree in Mathematics at the University of Athens,

Greece, followed by two masters in engineering (in Robotics and Renewable

Energy) from the Technical University of Athens. He has worked both

independently, as a home tutor, and in international schools in England

(reaching the level of Head of Department) before returning home and setting

up “Helios Tutors”.

When Dimitris is not teaching, you’ll find him wandering with a camera in hand,

trying to seize the perfect frame (have a look).

Biology

MARIA received her PhD in Alternatively spliced isoforms from the University

of Geneva, Switzerland, right after her MSc from Durham University, England.

Her bachelor degree is in Biology from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.

After having worked as a researcher in France, Switzerland and Greece

she decided to focus on teaching, initially in international schools (in Paris)

but mainly by tutoring privately.

When Maria is not teaching she will find time to read literary fiction and

practise her —a bit forgotten— piano skills.

Physics

GEORGE completed his PhD in Optical amplifiers and lasers at Imperial College

London, after receiving his BSc in Physics at the University of Crete, Greece,

and a MSc from the University of Sheffield, England. He is an experienced

and engaging tutor, having worked for more than 20 years as a teacher and

lecturer in schools and universities.

When George is not teaching he is most probably listening to music or enjoying

a Sci-Fi movie.

Greek

KATERINA completed her B.A. degree in Philosophy at London Metropolitan

Univeristy (former UNL) and then followed an M.A. in Classical Civilisation

at Birkbeck, University of London. She has been teaching/tutoring for more

than 25 years, all year groups from Year 6 to Year 13, with her students holding

an amazing record of achievement in Modern Greek: highest worldwide GCSE

mark in 2020, highest european A-Level mark in 2017, highest worldwide

A-Level mark in 2015.

When Katerina is not teaching you will find her either visiting a museum

or playing basketball (once an athlete of 200m).
